The 94th China International Medical Equipment Fair, also known as CMEF Beijing 2026, will bring medical-device manufacturers, healthcare buyers, distributors and technology developers to Beijing from October 21–24, 2026.
Organised by Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions, the event will take place at the Capital International Exhibition & Convention Center. The organiser expects CMEF and its concurrent exhibitions to occupy approximately 170,000 square metres, feature nearly 3,000 exhibitors and attract more than 120,000 professional visitors, including close to 10,000 overseas buyers.

Medical technology coverage extends across the industry chain
CMEF Beijing 2026 will cover products and technologies used across medical research, manufacturing, hospital operations, clinical care, rehabilitation and home healthcare.
Major exhibition sectors will include:
- Medical imaging equipment
- In vitro diagnostics and laboratory technology
- Operating-room and surgical equipment
- Medical consumables
- Medical robotics
- Rehabilitation and assistive devices
- Elderly care and nursing
- Home healthcare
- Emergency and rescue equipment
- Medical aesthetics
- Animal and pet health
- Medical-device components and manufacturing systems
The broad product range makes CMEF relevant to hospitals, healthcare groups, laboratories, distributors, purchasing organisations, importers and companies developing medical devices.
Buyers should define their product requirements before arriving. An exhibition of this size can be difficult to navigate without a shortlist based on product category, certification requirements, target pricing and intended market.
Medical AI Frontier Zone highlights emerging technologies
A dedicated Medical AI Frontier Zone will focus on the expanding role of artificial intelligence in healthcare.
The zone is expected to feature:
- Medical and surgical robots
- Brain-computer interfaces
- Embodied AI systems
- Large medical AI models
- Healthcare datasets
- AI-supported diagnostic and clinical applications
- 5G-connected healthcare solutions
- Innovative medical devices and pharmaceuticals
For buyers and healthcare providers, the commercial value of these technologies will depend on more than their technical novelty. Important evaluation criteria include clinical evidence, regulatory status, data protection, compatibility with existing hospital systems and the availability of technical support.
Companies assessing medical AI products should also ask whether demonstrations represent commercially available systems, clinical trials or early-stage prototypes.
Concurrent exhibitions broaden the product range
The 94th CMEF will be held alongside several specialist exhibitions. The original announcement highlights four of them, but the official CMEF overview lists a wider group of concurrent events:
- International Component Manufacturing & Design Show (ICMD): Medical-device components, design, materials and manufacturing technology
- China International Rehabilitation and Personal Health Show (CRS): Rehabilitation equipment and assistive technologies
- China International Elderly Care and Nursing Show (CECN): Elderly care, nursing and senior-living solutions
- China International Home Care Exhibition (Lifecare): Home medical equipment and care services
- International Healthy Lifestyle Fair: Products and services for health-oriented lifestyles
- Intelligent Health China (IHC): Digital and intelligent healthcare technologies
- International Emergency, Rescue & Safe China (ERSC): Emergency medicine, rescue and safety equipment
- Animal Health China (AHC): Veterinary products and animal-health technology
This combined format allows buyers to compare finished medical devices with their components, manufacturing systems and related healthcare services during the same visit.
WeMatch and WeTour target international buyers
CMEF’s WeSeries programme is designed to make the exhibition more accessible to international participants.
The WeTalk Global Stage will present technologies and industry developments across medical robotics, brain-computer interfaces, medical aesthetics, consumables, rehabilitation and home healthcare.
The WeMatch Hub will arrange targeted meetings between buyers and exhibitors. For buyers seeking distributors, contract manufacturers or specific product categories, scheduled matchmaking may be more efficient than approaching companies without prior contact.
The WeTour International Visit programme will provide curated exhibition routes, English-language guidance, product presentations and visits to selected exhibitors.
International buyers should submit detailed purchasing requirements when applying for matchmaking. Information such as product type, certification standard, target market, estimated order volume and preferred business model can help organisers identify more relevant suppliers.
Regional pavilion showcases Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei innovation
The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Coordinated Innovation Pavilion will highlight medical technology companies and research achievements from the wider regional healthcare cluster.
Beijing contributes major hospitals, universities and research institutions, while Tianjin and Hebei add manufacturing, engineering and supply-chain capabilities. The pavilion is intended to show how these resources are being connected across the three regions.
For foreign medical-device companies, the pavilion may provide opportunities to identify research partners, technology developers, manufacturers and regional distributors. However, prospective partners should still be evaluated independently for regulatory experience, production capacity, intellectual-property protection and access to the intended market.
International Zone supports cross-border sourcing
The International Zone will showcase medical technologies from outside China and provide overseas exhibitors with a more concentrated area for reaching Chinese buyers.
Foreign manufacturers planning to enter China should recognise that exhibition interest does not replace regulatory approval. Medical devices may require classification, testing, registration and appointment of a local legal representative before they can be sold in the Chinese market.
Similarly, overseas buyers sourcing Chinese medical devices should verify whether products hold the certifications and registrations required in their destination countries. Documentation should be checked with the relevant regulatory authority rather than accepted solely on the basis of exhibition materials.
Visitors should verify visa eligibility before travelling
According to Chinese government information published in September 2026, China offers unilateral visa-free entry to ordinary-passport holders from 50 countries, generally permitting eligible business visits of up to 30 days.
China’s 240-hour visa-free transit policy currently covers nationals of 57 countries. This is a transit arrangement rather than general visa-free entry: travellers must hold confirmed onward tickets to a third country or region and comply with the applicable entry-port and permitted-stay-area requirements.
Eligibility varies by nationality, passport and travel itinerary. Visitors should check the latest requirements through the National Immigration Administration or a Chinese embassy before booking travel.
How buyers can prepare for CMEF Beijing 2026
Buyers can improve the value of their visit by preparing a sourcing plan that includes:
- Priority product categories
- Applicable regulatory classifications
- Required certifications and testing reports
- Target prices and estimated order volumes
- Manufacturing and quality-control requirements
- Preferred distribution or partnership structure
- Shortlisted exhibitors and scheduled meetings
Visitors should also allow time to compare suppliers rather than placing orders immediately. Factory verification, product testing, contract review and regulatory checks should normally follow initial exhibition discussions.
Official visitor registration is available through the CMEF registration platform. Buyers comparing CMEF with other exhibitions can also explore the China trade show calendar.
With its combination of medical equipment, manufacturing technology, artificial intelligence and international matchmaking, CMEF Beijing 2026 will provide a broad overview of China’s medical-device market. Its greatest commercial value should come from carefully targeted meetings and systematic supplier evaluation rather than the overall size of the exhibition alone.
