The Global Sources Hong Kong Shows 2026 will return to AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong for two sourcing phases on October 11–14 and October 18–21. More than 4,200 Asia-based suppliers are expected to occupy over 8,000 booths, presenting upwards of 330,000 new products to international buyers.
Held under the theme “Connecting Global Innovation, Enabling Sustainable Sourcing,” the October edition will cover consumer electronics, gaming, mobile electronics, smart home and security products, lifestyle electronics, sports equipment and outdoor products.
Global Sources reported that professional buyer pre-registration was 25% higher year on year as of July, with particularly strong growth from North America and Europe. The organizer is positioning the event as a consolidated sourcing platform where buyers can evaluate products, compare suppliers and discuss orders without visiting several separate industry exhibitions.
New features will include the Best of Innovation Awards Winners Showcase and Future Tech Discovery Zone, alongside product demonstrations, conferences and supplier-matching opportunities.
Phase 1 covers consumer electronics and gaming
The first phase, running from October 11 to 14, will bring together more than 2,100 exhibitors across over 4,000 booths. Its main categories include computers and accessories, gaming equipment, audio and video products, car electronics, security products, personal transporters, photography equipment, batteries and power supplies.
The official Global Sources Gaming exhibition will occupy halls 2, 3 and 6 at AsiaWorld-Expo. Exhibits will include gaming consoles, peripherals, esports equipment, virtual-reality devices and home-entertainment products.
One focus will be the growing overlap between professional workstations and gaming setups. Global Sources expects more than 1,600 PC-accessory booths and nearly 500 gaming-peripheral booths, allowing buyers to compare monitors, keyboards, mice, chargers, controllers, headsets, computer cases, seating and mounting systems in one visit.
Named participating brands include CE-LINK, RXGAMER, Brateck, Havit, AULA, MCHOSE, ATK, TITAN and Huntkey.
EU compliance enters electronics sourcing decisions
Phase 1 will also address regulatory readiness for products entering Europe. This is increasingly relevant to importers evaluating batteries, chargers, power supplies and electronics with embedded batteries.
Under the EU Batteries Regulation, battery passports become mandatory from February 18, 2027, for light means of transport batteries, electric-vehicle batteries and industrial batteries with capacities above 2 kWh. The passports will provide access to information including battery composition, carbon-footprint data, recycled content and supply-chain due diligence where applicable.
Digital Product Passport requirements may later extend to additional product groups through rules adopted under the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation. The regulation establishes the overall framework, but individual requirements and implementation dates depend on product-specific measures.
Global Sources says its power supply and charging area will include suppliers that have prepared for forthcoming traceability requirements. Buyers will be able to discuss documentation, material data and compliance systems directly with manufacturers before adding them to vendor shortlists.
Importers should still verify whether each product falls within the relevant regulatory scope and request evidence supporting any compliance claims.
Phase 2 expands AI product sourcing
The second phase, scheduled for October 18–21, will feature more than 2,100 suppliers across mobile electronics, smart home, security and appliances, lifestyle products, sports equipment and outdoor goods.
A major feature will be the AI+ Theme Zone, comprising more than 1,200 booths across seven segments: AI terminal devices, wearables, glasses, toys, pet products, personal health devices and other AI-integrated products.
Rather than focusing solely on prototypes, the zone is intended to help buyers identify suppliers with manufacturing capacity, delivery experience and products that can progress towards commercial orders.
Tencent will make its show debut with software and hardware demonstrations. The announced programme includes the WorkBuddy office assistant, QClaw remote agent and Marvis operating-system assistant, along with RoboticX robots, open-source systems and partner-built devices for work, education, lifestyle and wellness applications.
An AI Agent Summit will examine implementation roadmaps, technical bottlenecks and emerging applications. Announced speakers include Tencent’s chief scientist and representatives connected with Tencent’s open-source activities, the Linux Foundation and other open-source organizations.
Global Sources has also partnered with the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association to establish an AI Supply Chain Pavilion featuring modules, components and OEM manufacturing capabilities.
Used-phone pavilion targets circular-economy sourcing
Mobile-device reuse and recycling will form another part of Phase 2. Global Sources and the Hong Kong International Communications Electronics Commerce Association will introduce the Global Mobile Communications & Electronics Trade Pavilion.
Participants named by the organizer include Zhuan Zhuan, Aihuishou, US Mobile Phones Inc., Belong and ecoATM. The pavilion will showcase inspected used phones and supporting services related to resale, refurbishment and recycling.
The initiative responds to continued commercial interest in secondary-market devices. An IDC forecast examines worldwide used-smartphone shipments through 2029, while the organizer cites estimated shipments of 225.7 million devices in 2024 and a projected compound annual growth rate of 4.9% through 2029.
For buyers, product condition, testing methods, component origin, data erasure, warranty coverage and environmental obligations will be important parts of supplier assessment. The EU’s WEEE rules govern the treatment and recycling of electronic waste, but they should not be treated as a product-quality certification for refurbished phones.
October shows offer a consolidated sourcing programme
The two phases give importers and distributors separate windows for electronics and gaming products, followed by mobile devices, AI hardware, smart-home products and lifestyle categories.
For buyers planning 2027 orders, the programme offers opportunities to inspect physical samples, compare OEM and ODM capabilities, review compliance documentation and assess whether emerging AI and circular-economy products are ready for commercial distribution.
